a couple of weeks ago i went to a restaurant in vienna called spear and had an awesome rice burger! so, i decided to make one myself. with lots of vegetables! and with an asian twist ;)
what you will need:
– sticky rice (sushi rice)
– rice vinegar
– as much vegetables as you want (i used zucchini, carrots, paprika and onions)
– a bit of lemon juice
– chicken filet (optional)
– soy sauce
for cooking the sticky rice you can follow the instructions on this awesome website.
while the rice is cooking, cut up the vegetables and the meat in thin stripes.
marinate the meat in soy sauce and a bit of chilli if you like it spicier.
then fry the vegetables with a bit of oil and lemon juice until they get soft.
fry the meat separately so that the vegetables don’t take on the colour of soy sauce.
when the rice is cooked, add the rice vinegar as instructed on the website and let it cool down to room temperature. after it has cooled down, mix some rice vinegar with water in a bowl and dip your hands into it ;) sushi rice is very sticky, so it’s important to keep your hands wet while forming it. so, take a little bit less then a handful of rice and form it into a round flat base. then add the vegetables and the meat. finally, form another scoop of rice for the top and you’re good to go!
